The Employability Challenge

On Tuesday 6th December I made the 100 mile journey to Durham to attend the Education for Employability Conference with Gary Forrest (@garydforrest ) , Sue Barr organised by Lynda Dixon (@enterprisegran).

Topic of the conference:  The employability challenge: equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and attributes to enter and thrive in the working world.

The following areas were covered:

  • What do we mean by employability?
  • Understanding the policy landscape
  • The leadership challenge
  • The curriculum challenge
  • The employer challenge
  • The partnership challenge

My tweets from the conference

Currently looking at the support we currently receive from employers. Have to say #hull is fantastic employers are always willing to help.

Just back from a great day in Durham thanks @enterprisegran #eccne #employability

Overall a great insightful conference with lots of useful information and practice to taken away.  The best part of the day was meeting people and having the opportunity to share ideas.

I would like to thank @enterprisegran for the excellent organisation, @garydforrest and Sue Barr.

Great enterprising and careers people who I highly recommended following:
